Hey, I’m Kim!
Lover of in between moments, live music & real life!
I grew up near Detroit, Michigan where it’s said we hustle harder.
While I feel that, I’m also not about the hustle culture these days and as a working parent I’m always trying to strike a balance. I moved to New York for college - where I got a BFA in Photography - and I like to think I’ve maintained my Midwest sensibilities with the no bullshit attitude of a New Yorker.
I love to swear, but I try to watch my mouth around the kids!
I have identified as a photographer since I was 5. This was before screens - so to keep me quiet and busy my grandfather handed me his camera and I haven’t stopped since. I developed my first photo in a dark room at the age of 11 and the developing technology of digital gets my synapses firing.
The lens is a way for me to create calm from the chaos of my inner mind (shout out to all my fellow neurodivergents finding ways to channel that creative energy).
Other ways I do this include but are not limited to travel (35 countries and counting), ceramics classes, tap dancing, and following phish as much as I can (120 and counting). Confession - I don’t drink beer at concerts, but they make those tampon flasks and no one ever questions those.
I know you’re thinking, “she’s totally my kind of person”….
Client Review
“You’ll never want to work with another.”
“Kim is phenomenal! She has a great eye and is technically savvy - making her a powerhouse of a photographer. While she is an artist behind a camera - she’s also well planned and thorough. She worked with me on my wedding timeline and prompted me to think of key moments I’d want to capture. Kim is approachable and makes people around her feel comfortable. And she’s an absolute wiz with kids! Kim is a genius - once you’ve worked with her, you’ll never want to work with another.”

You don’t want just any photographer, you want me.
I’m a kid at heart. Fart jokes and dance parties make your little ones laugh nearly 99.9% of the time. Breakdowns and meltdowns are normal, and to be honest - they’re expected. When the tough moments arise, it’s ok to have a cup of coffee and catch your breath. I’ll bring the humor that’s grounded in compassion and a personal understanding of neurodivergent needs.
